Dr. Gregory Lorenz
Veterinarian
Dr. Greg Lorenz graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and is a past president of the Blue Ridge Veterinary Medical Association. For over 10 years, Dr. Lorenz has served on the advisory committee for Blue Ridge Community College’s veterinary technician program.
Dr. Lorenz practiced in a busy small animal hospital in southern Maryland for five years before joining the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in 2006. In October 2008, he took ownership of the hospital and is the Director of Medicine. His professional interests include surgery (soft tissue and orthopedics), ultrasound, and internal medicine.
Dr. Lorenz enjoys spending free time with his wife and kids, including hiking and running with his dog Toast, mountain biking with his son, and reading with his two cats Birch and Meatball.
Dr. Stacy Reeder
Veterinarian
Stacy Reeder, DVM, earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She practiced in the Shenandoah Valley for over 12 years before moving back to her home state of Maryland. She has now moved back to the Shenandoah Valley, the place her heart never left.
Dr. Reeder has special interests in geriatrics and orthopedics, including physical rehabilitation and sports medicine. She completed her course work for certification as a canine rehabilitation therapist at the Animal Rehabilitation Institute and has practiced rehab for many years.
Dr. Reeder spends her free time hiking, reading, and gardening. Also, she is very involved with her church as a lay pastor. She shares her home with her dog, Sassy Pig, a menagerie of cats, and often an extra dog or two.
Dr. Michelle Weeks
Veterinarian
Originally from South Florida, Michelle Weeks, DVM, graduated with honors from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2000. She then completed an intensive fourteen-month small animal internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. After finishing her internship, Dr. Weeks practiced as a small-animal veterinarian for eight years at a small animal hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Weeks joined the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in February 2009. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia in 1996 and has many wonderful memories of the area.
Nominated as “Best Veterinarian of 2008” by the Morris Animal Foundation as well as by Hill’s and Dog and Cat Fancy Magazines, Dr. Weeks enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. Dr. Weeks has special interests in dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Weeks currently lives in Waynesboro with her husband, children, and dog, Buddy. In her free time, Dr. Weeks enjoys traveling to exotic foreign lands, photography, reading, and restoring a crumbly Victorian she calls home.
Dr. Eden Reinhard
Veterinarian
Eden Reinhard, DVM, joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in July 2020. She earned her Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Having been raised in Virginia, she moved back to complete a 1-year emergency and primary care internship at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center in Annandale, Va. Eden received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 2011 and has never forgotten how beautiful this area is. Now, she is settled down with her husband, Cameron, and her two greyhounds, Castor and Pollux, in the Shenandoah Valley.
Dr. Reinhard has a special interest in diagnostic imaging, wound care, and soft tissue surgery. When not caring for your furry family members, she also enjoys baking, craft/art projects, hiking, and she is hoping to be able to camp more. She also loves playing the piano, flute, guitar, and singing when she has time.
Dr. Emily Ward
Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Ward Huffman was born and raised in Waynesboro, Virginia. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Graduating in the top twenty-five percent of her veterinary school class, she was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society. Emily completed her undergraduate studies at Randolph College in 2017. There she earned her Bachelor of Science degree and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, ranking in the top ten percent of her undergraduate class.
Dr. Ward has a long-standing relationship with the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro. Beginning in high school, she has worked in a multitude of roles around the hospital ranging from kennel assistant to the front desk, to veterinary assistant, and finally to Associate Veterinarian. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and internal medicine.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, as well as their golden retriever, Eleanor, and their two orange cats, Henry and Patrick. Additionally, Emily is engaged in the local community including playing viola in the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra and serving on the board of Hawassa Hope, a local non-profit providing resources for vulnerable populations in Ethiopia.
Dr. Sarah Nordstrom
Veterinarian
Dr. Nordstrom is from Middlebrook, Virginia, where she grew up in a veterinary household, fostering a lifelong passion for animal care. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia in 2020 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025.
Now residing in Staunton, Virginia, Dr. Nordstrom is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients. Her professional interests include surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and canine reproduction. She is excited to be back in the Shenandoah Valley and is enjoying building lasting relationships with Animal Hospital of Waynesboro clients and their pets.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nordstrom enjoys staying active through running, hiking, and playing pickleball. She also loves cooking, exploring local wineries and breweries, and spending time with her Portuguese Water Dog, Iris.

Kim Sutherland
CVPM
Kim joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro as practice manager in 2017. After many years as an HR director and then HR consultant, she decided to make a career change and pursue working with animals and those that love animals. Kim graduated from Michigan State University with a business degree, acquired an MBA from Wayne State University, and recently completed an Executive Master of Natural Resources program at Virginia Tech. Outside of the hospital, Kim likes to travel, volunteer (with animals of course), and spoil her crazy dogs, Archie and Emma.

Kim has an Associate of Applied Science degree in animal science/veterinary technology and began her career with us in June 2003. Her primary interests in veterinary medicine include helping to train new LVTs, orthopedics, laser therapy, and helping feral cats. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, camping, photography, and spending time with her husband and two kids.

Erica is a 2015 graduate of the Veterinary Technician program at Blue Ridge Community College. She joined our staff in the fall of 2016 and has been such a great asset for our team. She loves sharing her knowledge with clients and has particular interest in veterinary dentistry and orthopedics. She enjoys time with her husband and her four English springer spaniels in her downtime.

Kristina became a licensed veterinary technician after attending Blue Ridge Community College’s veterinary technician program. She joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in December 2014 and is interested in hospice care, surgical assisting, hospitalized nursing care, therapeutic laser, parasitology, hematology, and pharmacology. Her hobbies outside of work include riding her horses, spending time with loved ones, fishing, spending time in just about any body of water, and praising God.

Kim has been a valuable part of our team since October 2012. She’s passionate about forming lasting bonds with our clients and patients, taking care of patients that are hospitalized and seeing them improve, and assisting in dentistry. Outside of work, Kim likes traveling and spending time with her husband, two beautiful children, and her pets.

Ashley joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in May 2016. She has an Associate of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology and is most interested in dentistry and geriatric care. Ashley has many hobbies outside of work, including spending time with her family playing card games or watching movies. Ashley enjoys reading, watching her favorite TV series, and spending her time outdoors, camping, kayaking, or cooking out with friends. Most of all, Ashley enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and precious little boy.

As a licensed veterinary technician, Lauren wears many hats at Animal Hospital of Waynesboro. Her main professional interests include running lab work, assisting in surgery, monitoring patients while they are under anesthesia, and seeing patients’ conditions improve. Lauren earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology to get to where she is today and in her free time loves spending time with her husband and beautiful little girl, as well as hiking, refinishing furniture, and being with her own four-legged family members.

My name is Teresa. I have been very passionate about animal care since I was very young. Educating clients and taking care of our patients are some of the things I enjoy most about being a licensed veterinary technician. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family out in nature or on the ball field!
Erin

Erin graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at BRCC in 2003. She has extensive small animal practice experience, over the past 20+ years, and enjoys emergency triage and diagnostic medicine. Erin has received specialized training in small animal ultrasonography and has utilized her skills in practice for several years. Outside of work, Erin enjoys new adventures with her family and passing on her passion for animals. Erin is now focused on a nursing career in human medicine but continues to keep her veterinary nursing skills fresh here at Animal Hospital of Waynesboro. Erin resides in Augusta County with her family and many furry friends.

Bonnie graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 2013 and has been working full-time as a licensed technician since. Bonnie joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in October 2020. Her professional interests include nursing care, dentistry, and client education. Outside of work, Bonnie enjoys gardening, painting, horseback riding, hiking, and spending time with her husband, two beautiful children, and their fur babies.

Brooke joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in September 2022. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Studio Art from Mary Baldwin College and an Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College. Brooke has excellent experience and professional interests in client education, fear-free patient care, dentistry, and anesthesia/surgery. Her personal interests include skiing, gardening, canning, spending time with family, hiking with her dog, and lounging with her cats.

Hannah joined us as a Kennel Assistant in 2020 and then moved into Veterinary Assisting in 2021. Hannah is now our newest Licensed Veterinary Technician after completing her Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology degree at Blue Ridge Community College in May 2024. When not working, Hannah enjoys caring for houseplants, watching movies, photography, and art.

Connie became a part of our team in August 2015. She provides excellent customer service to our clients and their “fur babies” and has a particular interest in continuing education in veterinary medicine and working with her fellow team members. When not at the hospital, Connie likes to spend time with her family and friends, antiquing, gardening, and vacationing at the beach or up in the mountains.

Since March 2017, Tammy has been an integral part of our client service team. She came to Animal Hospital of Waynesboro with an associate’s degree in business from New River Community College and over 30 years of office management experience. Tammy enjoys working with our wonderful clients, but she really likes interacting with all the dogs and cats that make their way through our lobby each day. Outside of work she enjoys family time, fishing, camping, and getting lots of love from her pets.

Jessica has been with Animal Hospital of Waynesboro since 2018. She loves interaction and relationship development with our clients and seeing their fur babies grow. She has two boys that keep her busy with baseball. She has her own zoo at home with two cats, one dog, and two ferrets. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends or being out and about on a hike or in the water.

Emily rejoined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in October 2023 as a Veterinary Assistant. She previously worked for the hospital as a Kennel Assistant. Emily is currently attending Penn Foster to complete her veterinary technology degree. She has a passion for equine medicine, but also loves dogs. In her free time, she is in the barn raising show goats, riding horses, or playing with her Aussie.

Maegan joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro as a Veterinary Assistant in June 2023. Her ultimate goal is to become a veterinary technician and/or open her own kennel/daycare for dogs. Maegan enjoys fishing, hiking – just being outdoors – and spending time with her gorgeous daughter and many furry family members.

Lorelai joined us as a Kennel Assistant in March 2022. She completed her veterinary assisting certification through Valley Career & Technical Center and graduated high school in May 2022. She has since been promoted to a Veterinary Assistant. Lorelai loves spending time with family and friends, fishing, and baking.

Morgan joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro in 2018 as a Kennel Assistant. Morgan’s hard work, knowledge base, and efficiency allowed her to move up quickly to a Veterinary Assistant position. She is a true animal lover. She has a dog, Denver, two cats, Nim and Waverly, and a green cheek conure bird. Morgan most likes assisting with emergency and urgent care cases.

Donna has been with Animal Hospital of Waynesboro since 1987, just four years after we opened our doors! Surgery and nutrition are her primary veterinary interests and when not at work, she enjoys crocheting, needlework, and most of all, walking in the park with her dog, Journey.

Angie joined Animal Hospital of Waynesboro as a CSR in 2024 after being a long-term client. Angie knows what our clients need, so she works hard to provide caring, personalized service. Angie loves spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren and her little Jack Russell Terrier, Pearl.

Aly joined the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro team in 2018. She has over 20 years of experience as a veterinary client service representative. Her extensive knowledge and skill benefits both our clients and her team – she is a true advocate for both. Aly is a Frenchie lover through and through and dearly loves the cutest Frenchie around, her dog Abygayle.
In Loving Memory of Dr. Valerie Weiss (1970–2021)
Dr. Valerie Weiss was a compassionate veterinarian who touched the lives of countless pets and families. Her dedication to animal care and her kindness toward both clients and colleagues made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
We are grateful for the time we had working alongside Dr. Weiss and for the many pets she cared for throughout her career. She will always remain an important part of the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro family.
