Recently my dog had an emergency situation and I was not only able to take him in right then to be checked out but also they were able to do immediate surgery to clear a blockage in her small intestine . They save lives and are very friendly and really care about your babies!!

This review is long overdue. My husband and I have been in Virginia for two and a half years and since moving here have always brought our dogs to Waynesboro Animal Hospital. Across the board, all the employees there, vets, front desk people, and tech assistants, have been professional, helpful, friendly, and solicitous of our dogs. But our vet, Dr. Reinhard, is positively a GIFT. She is kind, gentle, and knowledgeable and has taken/is taking excellent care of our four rescue dogs. She’ll get on the floor with them and calm them (they always panic at the smell of the vet). And she knows her stuff—delivers the goods. We adopted an elderly dog two years ago. She had dementia, was mostly deaf, partially blind, but Dr. Reinhard kept her healthy for almost an entire year (despite our old girl being almost at death’s door when we adopted her from the pound). When she was finally so old that she became unable to eat and was walking in circles, Dr. Reinhard, with her great compassion, helped us usher her on to her next adventure. We had another dog who was very old (he was partially blind and always a little aggressive, plus he had bad arthritis) and had begun to turn mean, attacking my husband and me. We decided, due to his age, that maybe he had dementia, so we brought him to Dr. Reinhard to put him to sleep. She was wonderfully supportive but also offered a possible solution: two drugs that would help him with pain and anxiety. So we tried them, and in a week, we had a completely new dog. We were no longer scared to approach him. He calmed down and was jaunty on walks—truly 100% cheerier, a changed dog, no longer growling and snapping, but again cuddling with us. Dr. Reinhard gave us another whole year (more) with our boy before he did become too old and couldn’t eat, couldn’t walk, etc. She was, as always, kind and considerate as she put him down (just a week ago). She gave us options all along the way—stay or go while it happened, options related to what to do with him after. She made things most comforting for us in a terribly painful time. We still have two dogs, and she keeps them healthy and happy, up to date on vaccines, teeth cleaning, etc. We’re most grateful to have her for our vet. We have, on occasion, had two other vets in emergencies when Dr. Reinhard wasn’t available on such short notice: Dr. Fuller and Dr. Ward. They were both also lovely and professional and most helpful. Bottom line is that the superb people at Waynesboro Animal Hospital have more than delivered for us, attending well to my husband and my needs in caring for our four much loved dogs.

My cat continuously has ingrown toenails. Animal Hospital of Waynesboro has consented to schedule her for regular trims even though they do not usually do outside wellness checkup. My cat is a rescue and FIV positive so I appreciate all that can be done for her. I had been taking elsewhere for nail trims and she ALWAYS threw up; she does not do that at Animal Hospital! I have taken my cat (Blay) and my dog (Kaeya), to the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro. I feel safe in knowing that that their Doctors, provide the best solutions for my fur babies. I have not had that experience with other Vets. Blay has had a problem, with scratching above her eyes, her eyes & abdomen. Dr. Reeder had a solution, that has taken care of the problem. No Vet, in 10 years has been able to provide this easy med & diet change solution, ever. Everyone is kind & gentle in handling my babies. Including all support staff. Excellent Care & Service.

Our sweet dog Molly became very sick with Pancreatitis last week and we didn’t know if she was going to make it or not. She saw Dr. Lorenz and was hospitalized for 5 days and he went above and beyond to get her better! ❤️ The vet techs and staff are wonderful as well! He kept us informed by phone calls I was even able to go out and visit with her. She’s been home since Wednesday and still has has some loose stools and whiny at times due to pain but he is controlling that with her medication! This was my best ever experience at an animal hospital. They treated me with respect, and my 19 month young German Shepherd made two new human friends. This was his first trip to his new vet, and they really treated him with Love. The visit ended up being only about gaining his trust. They were magnificent, and his next visit will be for his vaccinations. They have gained my business forever by simply showing my pup love and affection, and respect. My previous vet is still overbooking and not allowing the pet parents to come in with their fur babies. They don't see pets, they see dollar signs. Animal Hospital of Waynesboro is where everyone should take their pets.

My dogs first visit was an emergency. we had just moved here from out of state and didnt know any vets yet. They took him in right away, the staff was caring and patient. I couldn't go in with him due to the quarantine, but the staff listened to my concerns and details about his personality. I felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care. The staff and Dr Lorenz kept in contact throughout the day and after his surgery. They decide to keep him over night due to some concerns (and didn't charge me) I got a check in call the next morning with updates on how he was doing, and set a time for pick up. He came out tag wagging and happy. I know he was comfortable there to. I can't say enough about his animal hospital. The staff and Doctor were amazing during this whole ordeal. Thank you Dr Lorenz and staff!!!!!

There is something truly remarkable about watching Dr. Reeder be my dog’s veterinarian. Every part of Scarlet’s annual exam and vaccinations today was completed with such skill and professionalism that I left in awe. I fully expected Scarlet to have a rough appointment while being poked and prodded and examined, but Dr. Reeder took her time with her, she made her comfortable, she won her over with treats and she completed the most through veterinarian exam I have ever witnessed, in addition to three vaccinations without so much as a whimper from Scarlet. I consider myself so fortunate to have found such a wonderful veterinarian.

I changed to Animal Hospital of Waynesboro to Dr. Lorenz after being so impressed with the care and service I witnessed first hand with my friend, Sheila Merritt! I took Gracie for her first visit and I was beyond impressed! Gracie had the best check up she has ever had! I learned so much from Dr. Lorenz that we had never had in the past! Awesome, friendly and the most caring staff ever! Dr. Lorenz is amazing! I can’t say enough about Animal Hospital of Waynesboro! So glad I made this change!!!!

Last Sunday our dog ran into a piece of re bar and it tore her side open and we had to take her to the emergency vet in Verona, they stitched her up. Thursday we went back to the emergency vet to get the drainage tubes removed and they told us wrong information. Woke up Friday and her skin had died and stitches tore open, I immediately called the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro and they got me in right away. They were very patient with me as I was a nervous wreck and crying. They were able to cut away the dead skin and re-stitch our dog. On a scale of 1-10 the stitches she had done at the emergency vet were a 2 and the stitches she had done here were a 10! They have been so great to deal with and very helpful. I ask a thousand questions and they are patient and answer every single one of them. Dr. Reeder and the team are amazing. Baylie is looking better and better and should be completely healed next week. They truly do care about your pets and I am so grateful.

I couldn’t be more impressed with the amazing services we have been receiving from the whole staff!! We found newborn kittens that had been abandoned so we brought them home to save them. With never doing this before and the fear of one struggling I walked in with no appointment and the staff immediately took the kittens to be incubated and taken care of. Dr. Weeks was so amazing with giving me updates and explaining the care I would need to give the kittens. She did everything we could have asked for. Unfortunately we did have one pass and they all were so supportive and caring!! We are still receiving care and checkups for the one kitty left and they have been on top of his health and any concerns we may have!! We can’t wait to see them next week for another checkup!! This whole team is beyond amazing!! 🐱❤️

I just want to thank you all so much for the card, and the paw print, it took me a day or two before able to post it without harshly sobbing. The visit itself was incredibly difficult, its never a good feeling when you have to make a decision to stop somone you love from suffering. But the doctor never left the room during the whole process. And To the compassionate staff who genuinely love and respect our best friends, i am eternally grateful, to see the love and life still etched into your mouth and eyes.

I need to take a minute and acknowledge Animal Hospital of Waynesboro. Loosing an animal in any capacity is so difficult. They were very supportive and understanding the day that Zeus was laid to rest. They made sure his last few hours physically on this planet were filled with love and care. They helped him go with a full belly of warm roasted chicken,(which was above and beyond their calling) as well walked me through what to expect. I left that day a mess, genuinely a sobbing mess. I didn’t stay long enough to collect his things(collar and leash) they called me a few weeks later to let me know they had not only kept his leash and collar but also had Zeus’s paw print for me whenever I was ready to pick them up. Today, I thought I was strong enough to pick them up, I went in told the receptionist what I was there for and was genuinely so proud I made it through the whole speech without crying once.... until, I got in the car opened the envelope to find a beautiful poem along with his paw print as well as a card signed by every single employee of the office. The fact that they took the time to care not only for our pet, but us says something about this office. I can never express how grateful I am for their support during this difficult time.

Zoë LOVES Dr. Reeder despite hating coming to the vet! They are always so patient and willing to work with us to make visits as easy as possible on Zoë. They've been amazing at working with us on payment plans for emergency visits as well as getting us in quickly. They were wonderful with our last dog, Gracie, before cancer got the best of her. We will always make take Zoë to see them no matter where we live!
